Refund & Cancellation Policy

Last updated: August 2026 · Governing law: New Zealand

Cancellation Requests

All cancellations must be submitted in writing to cancellations@elitenewzealand.com. The cancellation date is the date on which we receive your written notice, not the date you intend to travel.

Cancellation Fees

Cancellation fees are calculated as a percentage of the total booking value, based on how far in advance of your tour's start date we receive your written cancellation:

Time Before DepartureCancellation Fee
3 days or more before departure5% of total booking value
Less than 3 days, but more than 24 hours before departure10% of total booking value
Within 24 hours (NZ time) of departure100% of total booking value

Supplier-specific cancellation terms (e.g. accommodation, third-party experience providers) may also apply and could result in additional non-refundable amounts, separate from the fees above.

Non-Refundable Charges

Credit card processing fees incurred at the time of payment are non-refundable under any circumstances, regardless of when a cancellation is made.

Amendments

Requests to amend a confirmed booking (e.g. date changes, itinerary changes) must be submitted in writing. We will do our best to accommodate changes, but this is subject to supplier availability, and additional charges may apply.

No-Shows

Failure to arrive for a confirmed tour or transfer without prior written cancellation will be treated as a same-day cancellation and is subject to the 100% cancellation fee.

Refund Method and Timing

Approved refunds will be returned to the original payment method used at the time of booking. Please allow up to 10 business days for the refund to be processed and reflected in your account.

Force Majeure

Elite New Zealand will not be held liable for any failure to perform, or delay in performing, its obligations where such failure or delay arises from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, extreme weather, pandemic or public health emergencies, government travel restrictions or border closures, civil unrest, strikes, or acts of war or terrorism. In such circumstances, we will work with you in good faith to reschedule your booking or provide a credit note where possible, and will pass through any refunds recoverable from our suppliers. Standard cancellation fees under this policy may still apply where a refund cannot be recovered from the relevant supplier.

Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance covering trip cancellation, medical expenses, and personal belongings. Elite New Zealand is not responsible for losses that could have been covered by travel insurance.
